Alison leads the W-⁠ICAD project. She is a Reader in Psychology, Cultural Heritage and Inclusion in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Westminster. Her research interests include anti-exclusive design, access and inclusion within the museum and heritage sector. She is co-editor of The Museum Accessibility Spectrum, the digital version of which is available for free download, and leads the communication strand on the AHRC project The Sensational Museum.
Lindsay Bywood
Lindsay is the Research Fellow on the project. She is a trained translator, subtitler, and Translation Studies academic with a particular focus on audiovisual translation and accessibility. Her current focus is delivering training in creative audio description, facilitating co-creation workshops, and editing and writing creative AD.
Vanessa Jones
Vanessa has M.A.s in art history and museum education and has been the access programs manager at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery since 2015. She believes in the ability of museums to be models of inclusion and agents of social change. She is co-editor of The Museum Accessibility Spectrum.
Hannah Thompson
Hannah is a partially blind academic and activist. She is Professor of French and Critical Disability Studies at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her research interests include translation, creative audio description and relationships between text and image in French culture. She is Principal Investigator on the AHRC project The Sensational Museum.
Deborah Husbands
Deborah is a Reader in Race and Sociocultural Psychology in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Westminster. Her research interests include race, ethnicity and experiences of marginalisation. She is currently exploring the impostor phenomenon and its role in shaping identity, belonging and academic success.
